Regional Account Executive/Sales Representive

OmniLytics is a small, fast-growing, and innovative biotech company. We’re lucky to have an excellent, first to market product that greatly benefits fruit and vegetable growers. We’re seeking a qualified account executive sales representative to help provide solutions to growers experiencing bacterial diseases in the Florida/Georgia territory. This is a very technical product sale consisting of local demand generation together with close collaboration with our distribution partners. You’ll use your critical thinking and science background on a daily basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the sales process and will excel at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals. A microbiology background would be very beneficial, but not required. This candidate will need to be a quick learner with strong negotiating skills and an ability to showcase our offerings in a compelling way. While most interactions will be with fruit and vegetable growers, the candidate will also often be tasked with giving presentations and attending networking events and trade shows, and as such, the sales representative must be both personable and professional. The ability to communicate and relate to PhD level partners is also a must as coordination of field trials and grower trials is common.

Objectives of this role

  • Represent the company’s products and services, using University research as well as deep and comprehensive knowledge of how our solutions meet the needs of customers
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales goals by successfully implementing sales and marketing strategies and tactics, including setting up grower trials.
  • Generate leads and build relationships by organizing daily work schedule to call on existing and potential customers
  • Develop and implement territory action plan using comprehensive data analysis, and adjust sales techniques according to interactions and results in the field


  • Possess in-depth product knowledge, know the complexities of the industry, and identify the best practices to achieve success. A strong knowledge of the growing process and grower trends will be highly beneficial. Must be able to conduct grower trial demos from start to finish and handle objections.
  • Maintain working relationships with existing clients to ensure that they receive exceptional service and to identify potential new sales opportunities
  • Identify new prospects, set appointments, make effective qualifying sales calls, and manage sales cycle to close new business.
  • Prepare concise and accurate reports, proposals, and other required documentation for management presentations

Required skills and qualifications

  • Three or more years of sales experience within the Ag industry. Citrus and Tomato experience is desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Proficiency with sales management software and CRM
  • Ability to interpret and create Excel spreadsheets
  • Strong ability to balance persuasion with professionalism

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Proven success rate at levels above sales goals
  • Ability to travel at least 30% of the time to customer events
  • Strong science background with an understanding of microbiological processes.
